Mr. Book just finished On Call: A Doctor’s Journey In Public Service, by Anthony Fauci.
Fauci has the ability to write about complicated medical matters in a way that anyone can understand. An advanced understanding of science and infectious diseases is definitely not needed in order for the reader to clearly understand what he is saying.
Prior to COVID, Fauci’s work on AIDS would have been enough to earn himself a place in medical history. That part of his life constiututes almost a majority of the book and was excellent. Then, the sections on COVID were also excellent.
I give this book an A. Goodreads requires grades on a 1-5 star system. In my personal conversion system, an A equates to 5 stars. (A or A+: 5 stars, B+: 4 stars, B: 3 stars, C: 2 stars, D or F: 1 star).
