Mr. Book just finished All The President’s Men, by Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein.
As I’m sure everyone who is reading this would already know, this is Woodward and Bernstein’s account of them covering Watergate for the Washington Post. We now know a lot more about what happened than we did at the time the book was written, but this book has still passed the test of time. The trouble with writing this review is the story is so well known by now that I am struggling to add anything to do it. So, I will conclude this brief review by giving this an A+, which means it is inducted into the Hall of Fame. It is probably more worthy of getting an A, but I will add the plus due to the historical significance of having these writers write a book as close in time to the events. Goodreads requires grades on a 1-5 star system. In my personal conversion system, an A+ equates to 5 stars. (A or A+: 5 stars, B+: 4 stars, B: 3 stars, C: 2 stars, D or F: 1 star).

I have no idea when I originally read this book, other than I know I had to be a child. I was reading adult books before I left elementary school and I’m sure this was one of them. Whether I’ve reread it any point since then: I really don’t know. The original date(s) has been lost to history, but I know that Mr. Book reread this on July 17, 2024.
